The session on Personal Branding was a revealing moment for the Change Champions on our 2019 Young Leaders Mentoring Programme, as they were taught building a personal brand requires authenticity, consistency, and staying power.

2019 Young Leaders Mentoring Programme Module 2 – Raising Young Sustainable Development Goals Champions

S.M.I.L.E introduces the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the Change Champions on the 2019 Young Leaders Mentoring Programme during the second module of their leadership training.

Now it’s time for the Change Champions to take action, initiate SDG focused community development projects and exceed the 37 youth-led projects initiated by the 2018 batch of Change Champions.

Special thanks to our partners the United Nations Information Centre, Nigeria for facilitating the SDGs session.

Keeping the momentum on the transformational journey as the Change Champions learn critical tools and techniques to boost their self-esteem and self-worth as well as acceptable social behavior and how leaders should conduct themselves during the confidence building,

Off to a great start … S.M.I.L.E adopts 14 public high schools in Lagos, Nigeria for the 2019 batch of our Young Leaders Mentoring Programme.

2019 promises to be another transformational year raising young leaders, role models and change agents in the society through our leadership reorientation and peer mentoring programme and our youth-led SDG-focused social impact drive.

Summer Skills Acquisition Program

This summer was great as S.M.I.L.E created a platform for 39 teenagers & youth to acquire skills of interest as part of our drive to address youth unemployment in Nigeria. We will continue to encourage more youth to embrace entrepreneurship to help reduce their future dependence on white collar jobs after graduation from university.

Youth: Today’s Leaders, that was theme for 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference held in New York. We are delighted for the privilege given to S.M.I.L.E, as Associates of the United Nations DPI/ NGO to host her first workshop at this year’s conference.

We also want to thank the passionate attendees who came to our workshop at the 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference in New York, on Thursday. We encourage you to be intentional about developing youth leaders.

World Youth Skills Day 2018

Promoting Youth Entrepreneurship

The audience both young and old, were fascinated and greatly inspired by 5 students between the ages 17 – 23, who are members of S.M.I.LE’s Young Business Network as they shared their journey as young entrepreneurs from a tender age, during the panel session tagged ‘Youth in Business (Skills, Passion and Strategies.)’
The young participants were urged to take a cue from the panelists and look at options beyond white-collar jobs, by acquiring entrepreneurial and vocational skills essential for self-employment and self reliance in today’s global economy. The inspiring session was moderated by our partner,

15th of July is the day set aside by the United Nations to focus on issues relating to skills and jobs for youth and to emphasize the need for a substantial increase in the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills (SDG target 4.4).
