It was mixed feelings at the final module of S.M.I.L.E’s Young Leaders Mentoring Program. While the Change Champions did not want the training to end, we on the other hand were so eager to release them into their schools and the society to begin to explore their leadership potentials and hone their new skills as role models and peer mentors.

As we actively follow them up and provide the required support, we are confident that the future holds tremendous promise for these young minds.

We specially appreciate the unreserved support of the entire team, our amazing partners, Alumni and Social Innovators. It has been an amazing journey with you all.

The Change Champions had the unique privilege to glean directly from our partner, Mrs Trista Sue Kragh who spoke to them via Skype on the importance of Character. Our special appreciation once again goes to her organization, Agents of Change, USA for sponsoring this year’s programme.

Also, two of the participating schools sang a song specially composed for S.M.I.L.E and we are seriously considering adopting this inspiring song as our anthem for the Young Leaders Mentoring Program. Kudos to their selfless Vice Principal, our beloved Mr Adedeji who composed the song and played the guitar. He is indeed a rare gem and with educators like him in our schools, there is tremendous hope for our youth.

S.M.I.L.E … building a better world, raising a new generation of leaders.
