Our Objectives
About S.M.I.L.E
Strategy for Mentoring Initiative and Leadership Empowerment (S.M.I.L.E) is a youth leadership development and mentoring non-profit organization established in Lagos. Nigeria in 2011 (S.M.I.L.E) and in Maryland, United States of America in 2017 (S.M.I.L.E Initiative).
S.M.I.L.E is an Associate of the United Nations Department of Global Communications and in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council since 2017.
Our Mission
To inspire and equip underprivileged youth to achieve life goals and become agents of change in the society through mentoring and innovative leadership development programs.

Youth Leadership
Development
We believe leaders are both born and made.
Through our intensive Young Leaders Mentoring Program (YLMP), we equip public secondary school students with requisite skills to achieve their goals, mentor their peers and become change agents in the society.

Mentoring
Through our Executive Mentoring Program for Youth (EMPY) and periodic webinars, we create opportunities for young people to be mentored by accomplished individuals in various fields, such as business and career.

Youth Enterprise Development
Today’s Youth is more entrepreneurial and innovative in nature. Through our Young Business Leaders Network (YBLN) we address the soaring unemployment by donating business tools, provide continuous mentoring and business skills.

Educational Support and Scholarship Program
Education gives young people a platform to pursue their dreams and achieve greatness. We support indigent Youth who are at risk of dropping out of school due to financial constraints by donating books and educational materials and providing scholarships to tertiary institutions.

Advocacy and Community Development
As a youth development organization, we strive to address issues affecting young people within the framework of the United Nations global agenda, by organizing the International Youth Day, World Youth Skills Day and awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Digital Literacy
Program
The Digital Literacy Program was spurred by a need to bridge the wide digital divide hampering the growth and development of indigent Youth which became more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. We also donate digital devices such as android phones to indigent students to aid their learning.
