Organizing periodic Educational Outreaches across schools is a major focal point of our programs. This special intervention seeks to address gaps that have been identified as limiting factors in the performance of students in public schools.
The panel session held during the Mathematics Week was revealing and mind-blowing as it provided a safe place for students to express their fears, myths and misconceptions about mathematics; and also enabled them air their suggestions to the school management.
No doubt, the interactive panel session provided a platform for students and teachers to share their thoughts and perception about Mathematics and how students performance and learning experience can be improved.
Special thanks to our panel moderator- S.M.I.L.E’s Program Coordinator, Mrs Ajibola Babalola for driving the conversation and the awesome mathematics teachers – Mrs Oluremi Ladipo, Mr Stephen Ola, and students- Miss Racheal Alabi and Miss Taiwo Jimoh.
We are also grateful to Master Osejoro Dejo (S.M.I.L.E 2022 Change Champion of the Year) who shared his journey towards becoming a Maths Champion with his peers.
It was indeed a learning curve for everyone.
